Reuben (“Ben”) is a junior litigation associate at Carmel, Milazzo & DiChiara LLP (“CMD”). Prior to joining CMD, Ben worked as the senior law clerk at the Florida Office of the Attorney General Consumer Protection Division (“OAG”), where he developed an interest in government investigations and enforcement actions, administrative law, and securities litigation. At the OAG, Ben drafted subpoenas, witness affidavits, pre-trial motions, and legal memorandum on subjects such as extra-territorial jurisdiction of Florida’s Consumer Protection Laws over foreign companies, corporate monitors, and conflicts between state and federal regulations. He also gained experience in all stages of litigation from investigation, to witness preparation, to assisting the attorneys during trial.
Ben also worked as a law clerk for the Federal Public Defender in Jacksonville focusing on motion practice, client interviews, and habeas corpus petitions. In the private sector, Ben has worked on corporate books and records actions and tortious interference suits. Throughout law school, Ben volunteered at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid in the Family Law Unit, and the Restoration of Civil Rights Project at University of Florida Law.
Ben earned his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2016, with Certificates in Criminal Justice and Outstanding Pro Bono Service. He received his B.A., summa cum laude, in American History from the University of North Florida in 2012.
